Volunteer work is when an individual contributes his or her service freely without pressure or persuasion, direct or implied, from anyone like a superior authority. Volunteers can contribute anything that is within their skill set such as communication skills, knowledge, creativity, innovation, and many more. The contribution would then flow to the ones that need them such as care homes, orphanages, schools, natural disaster shelters, and animal shelters.
People mostly volunteer to contribute something to the world and give whatever they can without expecting anything back. Volunteering wouldn’t give you money but the experience you get is worthwhile. Volunteering in High School

During an interview or in a portfolio, show them that you are passionate about volunteering, this will prove to them you are able to manage your time efficiently and be committed to a cause that you are passionate about.
It could also improve your individuality such as providing you with a gratifying feeling after a long day of contributing to society. It’s not a glamorous life but it is uplifting for many parties. You’re also able to manage your time excellently. As a school student, you’re going to juggle so much on your plate. Such as extracurricular work, homework, assignments, and exams, hence this could prove that you are able to balance them all.
Volunteering in College
