Known as the world’s third-largest physical therapy association around the world, the California Physical Therapy Association (CPTA) comprises over 93,000 physical therapists as well as assistants in the state of California. All California licensed physical therapists and assistants must fulfil the 30 contact hours or 3.0 CUEs throughout their license renewal period. The hours should be obtained through the subjects that are related to client/patient management or professional practice of physical therapy.

Leadership Opportunities
CPTA also offers a chance for its members to lead a team of physical therapists and assistants. The CPTA board comprises four directors and five officers that handle the policies and mandates of CPTA, approved by the Assembly of Representatives. The main job scope handled by the CPTA board includes the financial and business affairs, as well as directing the CPTA committee members. Every year, there will be a round of nominations for potential candidates to be part of the CPTA board. These votes will be done amongst the committee members.
